Double Guarded Culture Swabs is a 28″ length swab designed for use in horses or cattle. These guarded culture swabs feature two outer protective sleeves around the inner sampling swab. The outer layer allows for passage through the vagina while the inner rod is protected. Once in place the inner rod is pushed through the penetrating cap of the outer sleeve and extended forward where the inner swab can then be extended to collect an uncontaminated sample. Once the sample is collected, the sampling swab can be retracted into the inner sleeve and both the inner and outer sleeves removed from the animal. The swab also features a 6″ break-away tip for insertion into a sampling bag.
